As many of you know I like Bears.  Stephen Colbert and I have been quietly feuding over this subject for quite some time, and I actually believe that his listing of Bears as the number one threat to America is an oblique attack against me since he's too afraid to come out in the open and attack me directly.  He is like a spider waiting in the darkness, nursing his hatred for all that is good and happy and free.  His reckoning shall come, but that is not why I write to you today.  No, today I write to you about another threat to our great furry friends, the Ursine. 

The Catholic League.  Yes, they have attacked Bjorn and his friends in the movie the Golden Compass, claiming everything from, and I quote, "Lyra is a habitual liar and thus her name," to such terrible things like, "the magisterium is meant to represent the oppressive evil Catholic Church." (which I would respond, "No shit?!  Really?")

But my words alone cannot express a truly succinct response, since I tend to be anything but short and precise.  Therefore, I leave you with this comic:
